Welcome to the hot "dog days" of summer. We know the term actually references the position of Sirius (the dog star) in the sky, but we're going to celebrate our furry friends with stylish doggy decor ideas, and invite you to help us with a pet project.
We're always looking for ways to #reinvintage everyday things we all have, and give them a new look, (and maybe even a new purpose.) Pet beds have gone from an old blanket folded and laid in a corner, to memory-foam beds with stylish covers. But if you want something unique, look around your attic or garage for an old drawer, suitcase, wood crate, side table or scrounge up a pallet and create something special for your pooch or kitty. Here are just a few inspirational photos from one of our Pinterest pages - find more when you click on the link.
And a small plea for our furry friends...
We know we have a lot of pet-lovers among our friends. We appreciate all the prayers and thoughts when Major the Shopdog was sick - they mean a lot! We're going to use the remaining dog days of summer for a #HelpusHelpThem campaign.
Rutherford County P.A.W.S. is overcrowded and needs support from the community, so we're going to do our part, and we'd like to challenge you: will you help us with a review? If you do, we'll help them. The dog days officially end on August 20. So through then, we hope you'll leave us a review (we love 5 stars) on any/all of these sites, and we'll make a donation to P.A.W.S. Here are links to make it easy to find us:their list, you can bring them by the shop, and we'll take them when we drop off our donations on August 21.
And to keep things fun, we're giving away one of our reproduction McCoy dog bowls on August 21. Stop by and ask for an entry form to let us know you've left a review or donated supplies, and you'll be entered to win!
WHO WRITES THIS STUFF?
I'm Terry Lea, owner of Re-Invintage Home, a vintage home goods shop just south of Nashville in Murfreesboro, TN. A lifelong passion for vintage picking led me to open a shop with my picking pal, Sherri in 2017. Come see us!
